Kristin's Story
School
I do not keep in touch with anybody from high school. I actually wonder if anybody even remembers me! I had a few close friends and some great boyfriends then, but I focused on academics. I graduated h.s. a year early and went onto college, where I studied political science and earned a BA. I then went onto graduate school to study public services management and public policy. Recently, I earned my MS.
College
I liked college a lot. I wish I could go back!
My first year, I went to North Central College. I didn't care for the school, so I transferred to Benedictine University.
There, I met some of the greatest people who truly inspired me to pursue the things in life that matter the most.

Workplace
During the week of graduation from graduate school, I interviewed for my first job in my field of interest. A few weeks later I was hired... For the past year and a half, I have been working for a large Chicago nonprofit organization that has a contract with the state- Illinois Action for Children. I am a Family Resources Specialist, working with low-income and public aid families. Without going into too much detail, it's a blend of public services, social work, and public policy... I also have my own consulting business in public and nonprofit consulting, registered as Public Elements. Finally, I maintain an Illinois real estate salesperson license.
