Life Seal steaks and blubber soup is what was offered at the Alaskan Native Indian Hospital where I worked for a short time. Fresh fish and harvested rice was what I ate in the small remote village in the southern Philippines where I lived with my former husband. A quiet family I was staying with in a dusty town of India served dal. And pupusas were the main meal in El Salvador. Our latest adventure took five weeks thru El Salvador and Guatemala. We had a kick exploring the Mayan Ruins of Tikal and canopying over the rainforest listening to the howling monkeys and watching the toucans. Who says a family of five (me, my husband and our three boys- age 8 1/2, 3 1/2 and 2 years) can’t live life to the fullest. I believe kids are portable, and they go wherever you take them and they have fun doing the simplest of things. I believe we only have one shot at life, and we must take full advantage of it..
