Kristina's Story
Currently, I live in Boonville, IN I have 1 son, Cody. My grandson is due 11/11. Life hasn't been what I'd hoped.
It certainly hasn't been easy. At 27, I was diagnosed with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1. It's a cancer of your entire Endocrine system -- pituitary, parathyroid, thyroid, adrenal glands, pancreas, By 29, in March 2007, I was placed on full disability. I had to go on disability. he head of my pancreas, part of my stomach, my duodenum, and my common bile duct. FINALLY, REMISSION!!! I jwas just shy of celebrating 5 years in remission, 28 days in fact, when my Endocrine Oncologist tells me I have another tumor on my pancreas. Yep, recurrent pancreatic cancer. All because I literally have a disease called MEN. That was on 8/17/2023. Today, is 9/25/2023. I go back to Vanderbilt Medical Center 11/9, to find out if the surgeons are going to remove the tumor or remove my ENTIRE pancreas. Did you know you could live without one of those? I didn't!
