Krystal's Story
Life
Geez after I graduated life went so fast. I had some fun partied then moved in with Tim. After a year together we got engaged and bought a house in Fairhaven. We were married in December of 2000.
He is such a great guy, he is my dream man. He is a big, strong, lumberjack/construction worker type. I knew it was going to be forever when we moved into our first house and he carried in the washing machine, refrigerator, couch by himself he just grabbed them like a bear and walked right in.
LOL I swooned. My strong man!
He has been trying to make me strong like him. It is not my favorite thing in the world. We always do things together even cutting and splitting firewood. Which is my least favorite thing to do in the world!! I hate it!! It is heavy and boring.
We do everything together, he won't go anywhere without me. I'm like his pet or something. ruf ruff He is my best friend. I am so glad we met.
I started working for UMASS Extension in October of 2000 and I am still there today. I am a lab assistant in the Plant Nutrition Department. It is a great place to work I love everyone there. I have made some great friends. I love going to the grower meetings and interacting with people. Except for those organic hippies LOL! They can be a bit frustrating. Hey if you want to eat bugs, go nuts!! I like my lettuce bug free!
My true love is animals. My husband and I love them all. We hav...Expand for more
e many pets. 5 cats, 5 degus, 2 rabbits, 1 turtle, 1 tortoise, 3 bearded dragons and hundreds of fish. We have a 20 gal, 10 gal, 55 gal and 120 gallon tank and a pond in the backyard. A lot of these animals were given to us because someone couldn't keep them for whatever reason. I am happy to take them in. Tim and I aren't having kids so they are like our children. Kinda but not in a weirdo way. We don't dress them up and stuff.
In August of 2001 we bought a house in New Bedford and we have been here ever since. Our friends live close by so it is nice.
My husband was a cranberry farmer all of his life but, due to the industry going down he had to change careers. His family owned bogs in Freetown and he worked them from the time he was very young, unfortunately last year they had to sell the farm. He worked as a foreman for a company in Middleboro from the time he was 18 till the age of 24. It was the thing he loved.
Now he works for the Local 104 IBEW he is an equipment operator. He really loves his job.
Overall life is good and getting better. :)
I am hoping that we can move within the next few years. I don't like the city and the people around here show no respect for others. Honestly I hate going out in public because people are just so scummy. It is depressing to live here. I try to be a nice person no matter what, but some people just don't care.
Oh well you can't please everyone!!
