Kurtiss's Story
Okay. First off, where it says "Letterman or Leno"--the answer is Carson. But he wasn't on the ballot.
As some of you know, during the last two years of high school (and as few of you know, during the next 8 years as well) I was heavily involved in LMYA baseball. Afterward, I went to three different professional umpire schools in three years, got the top written score in each, but was not selected as a professional (i.e., minor league) umpire. So much for Cooperstown.
Immediately after high school, I went to DVC and got my AA in Administration of Justice. Police work would have been fun, but I had other fish in the ocean to fry. Years later, I went back to DVC to get enough clas...Expand for more
ses to transfer to Cal where I majored in Math and English. But they STILL didn't elect me governor! So after several years of playing and directing chess tournaments, I went back to school again. I graduated Hastings in 2000 and McGeorge in 2001 and swore in to the California Bar in 2002.
Back to Hastings for a moment, because that was fun. I took the maximum allowable one third of my units overseas, studying law in England, Russia, Japan, Argentina, and Spain. (At McGeorge, I also studied in Austria.) I met Ryoko at Temple University's Tokyo campus in 2000. We were married in 2004 and had twins in 2008. A girl and a boy. No, they are not identical.
