Kyle's Story
Life
When I moved to Connecticut in 2003 to take my career down a new path, I left a fantastic girl behind in Orlando. By July I was missing Shalea terribly, so I flew down to Orlando and proposed to her. Shalea joined me in Norwalk a few months later. As she grew up in New Orleans and her entire family still resides in that area, we decided to have our wedding in the Big Easy. It was an unbelievable event, with our ceremony held at the Ritz Carlton on November 12, 2004.
My life changed drastically for the second time in just a few short months when in February 2005, we found out that Shalea was pregnant! Noah Parker Madorin was born on a beautiful autumn afternoon, November 6, 2005. It's still hard to believe that I'm a father!
We're all very happy and enjoying life to the fullest. After all, if the last few years have been this exciting, just imagine what the next few will bring!
College
Decided to quit playing baseball and joined Sigma Chi Fraternity my freshman year. Attending Bradley University had some pros and lots of cons, and by my second year I was getting restless for a change. At the end of the first semester I was accepted for an internship with the Walt Disney ...Expand for more
Company in Orlando, which lasted through the end of the 2nd semester. During my junior year I began yearing for the sun and fun of Florida again, and applied for an advanced internship with the Disney company again. To my surprise, I was selected to participate and left to work for Mickey a second time. Looking back, my experience and involvement with Sigma Chi was the highlight of those years, but Bradley was a nice place to attend university.
Workplace
In 2003, I moved to Connecticut from Orlando, where I had been living for five years. Though I loved my experience with The Disney Company, I began to hunger for new opportunities. When I was offered an incredible position in early 2003, I packed up and headed north again. Now I'm the executive administrator for a small finance company, Joseph E. Brooks & Associates.
This summer, Shalea, Noah, Maple and I are heading south once again. We're moving to Metairie, a suburb of New Orleans, to help Shalea's family operate Southern Oaks Plantation, a business they've owned for twenty years. We're hoping to open a second location and expand into prepared foods in the next few years. As you can imagine, we're very excited about the move!
