Kyle's Story
Life
Life's a roller coaster. Good thing I love roller coasters and don't get sick on them!! I've been very fortunate and blessed with many opportunities and adventures over the years. I can't say that all have been pleasant, but I can profess that all have taught me important lessons and have nonetheless proved blessings in my life...for even those unfortunate and/or painful experiences led to more growth and fulfillment than I could have imagined.
After finishing at MSU in 1984, I worked at Multicraft in Pelahatchie and Brandon for about 5 years and resided in my hometown of Morton, Mississippi.
In 1990, I decided I wanted to experience life outside the South and moved to Marina Del Rey, California for a short time. There I met and fell in love with a man much older than I. In 1991 we married and moved to Birmingham, AL. He worked for the Dept. of Defense and I was employed at a mortgage company. Seven years later, the age difference began to take its toll on our relationship. We relocated to Seattle, Washington hoping the change would provide a much needed jump start for our professional and personal goals, and that, in return would revive our relationship. However, the difference in years and life stages became too great and we divorced in 1998. He moved to Tennesee and I stayed in Seattle.
I remained "Single in Seattle" for several years, loved every minute of it, and took advantage of every opportunity to witness and enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I've enjoyed holding season tickets to the Seattle Seahawks games, experienced the implosion of the Kingdome and personally witnessed the first kickoff in the new Seahawks stadium (Qwest Field). I have been to Safeco Field on many occassions to watch the exciting ...Expand for more
play of the Seattle Mariners and was in attendance for several record-breaking games/events. I've also been to Key Arena to watch the Sonics play.
In the summer of 2001, I met Terry Sybil of Kent, Washington. In September of 2002 we were married. I am now very happily married with every confidence this marriage is built on a solid foundation and will withstand the test of time. I am the stepmother of two wonderful girls, Carissa and Sabrina.
Terry has his own Industrial Coatings Consulting and Inspection business, TLS Services, and is a NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) certified inspector inspecting paints and coatings on structures such as bridges, water tanks, and ships. He's worked on the Alaska Pipeline and the Panama Canal. In addition to his own busness, Terry is employed with Jotun Worldwide and is the West Coast Technical Representative (Marine Coatings/Paints). I am employed as a Software Systems Analyst with WSIPC (Washington School Information Processing Cooperative) and I'm currently involved in the development of HR/Payroll software used throughout the Washington State Public School Districts.
In the summer, Terry and I love riding our motorcycle, a perfect way to take in the magnificent beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Our favorite ride involves leaving the typically cooler climate of Seattle behind and crossing over the Cascade Mountains to the warmth of the Eastern Washington desert. It's actually warm enough to go swimming over there! We also like taking our 1961 Chrysler Windsor with push-button transmission and BIG fins to some of the many local car shows. And, last but not least, we enjoy loading up the girls and the RV and heading to the mountains or the ocean for family camping trips.
