L. A.'s Story
A Better Life, A Better Me!
Well, it's nice to see that those whom I wondered about are doing well, and the others, well...life happens! I am certainly no where near where I thought I would be. Just goes to show how we don't always know what we really need in our lives. Living in the country, especially in Snow Haven, is not what I expected out of life, but I am lovin' it!
My kids are growing up in an area where crime is the occasional cow in the road and their school would fit in our cafeteria. It's small town, but my husband is related to most of the county, so it feels like home no matter where we go! Being a stay-at-home mom was great but I am back in the rat race of having a career. I love having the back yard surrounded by nature and the most awesome view in the morning. Life threw me a curve ball, dropped me in the middle of middle town America, and made my life Heaven! Who knew!!!
I am looking forward to watching my angels grow up to be happy, solid people - how I ended up with the most popular ones in school is still a mystery to me!! They certainly don't get it from me! Or maybe they did - learning from my experiences. And I have the best guy ever! He makes me feel safe, beautiful, smart and confident in myself every single day! And it doesn't hurt that he's a hottie!
I work for Kodak now, awesome job, and I love being out in the public, meeting new people. May come as a surprise to many, but I couldn't be more different from the person I was in high school. I am sure many thought I would end up a stripper or a junkie. Sorry if I didn't follow that path, but maybe that perception was skewed by my outward appearance, rather than the person I was inside. ...Expand for more
As I said...life happens! I don't care much for bullies, and as my friends would say, I am the champion of the little guy. Amazing, that I have the gumption to stand up for others, when I couldn't stand up for myself for so long. Well, maybe not couldn't stand up for myself, but rather didn't defend myself from the rumors and crap. I always thought that those people weren't worth my time, and who cares what they thought anyway - they were clueless!! They saw what they wanted to see: a young, poor, naive, scared girl who have a bad rep and was an easy target. HA! Catch me now, ye unworthy peasants! Just kidding!!
Actually, I spent my weekends at my mom's, sailing and boating on the Severn River, hanging with friends from the Annapolis Naval Academy, living life. My father was trailer trash, and that's who I lived with during school, but at mom's, life was different. And nobody in Marlton knew...too bad for you! Those who did visit mom's with me had a great time, being on the boat, enjoying the harbor, mall shopping and havin' a ball! I even had a different wardrobe and a fantastic house - complete with Chinese garden and pond. Two separate people in one. Oh well, what they didn't know about me didn't hurt me.
Now, I have one life, a great life, not too far from the life at mom's. A great house, 108 acres of natural beauty, a fabulous family, a great stylist and a sassy 4x4 (for the snow, ya know!) In a few months, the Babe and I will be celebrating ten years of wedded bliss and I couldn't be happier. (Yes, I know how people tend to exaggerate on these sites, but I can say that, if anything, I can't find the words to say how wonderful my life is!!) Life Happens!!
