Bryant Lamar's Story
Life
I served in Viet Nam from December 1965 thru September 1966. Barnett Bank in Naples, Florida was my place of employment from 1967 thru 1988. I was a member of the Naples and Bonita Springs Jaycees from 1969 thru 1977 where I served as treasurer and state director. At the present time I am retired in Graceville, Florida where I am taking care of my dad. I served as treasurer of the Graceville Lions Club from 2004 through 2007. I am secretary of my Sunday School class. I was serving as an usher at the First Baptist Church of Graceville until my dad got sick and had to spend more time looking after him. However, I am still on the church finance committee.
Governor Jeb Bush appointed me to the Board of Trustees of...Expand for more
the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital in 2005 and was reappointed by Governor Charlie Crist in 2007. At the present time I am still serving on that Board.
School years
The teacher who I would like to see again was Nancy Crye. She was my English Literature Teacher and the teacher who recommended me for the National Honor Society.
The time I was most surprised when I was in school was when my name was called to be inducted into the National Honor Society.
I loved Biology and signed up for Human Biology but was told that class was only for girls who wanted to be nurses.
The class that I liked the best was Bookkeeping. I took Bookkeeping I and Bookkeeping II. I then went to Perry Business College and took Accounting.
