Lamont's Story
Life
Well first, let me say to all my fellow classmates...WHAT'S THE DEAL?!! Now me, as you can see, I AM NOT DEAD!" I don't know what ya'heard, but forget it. Now a quick rundown from school to school. I will only name some mates I hung with, so don't get offended if I didn't say you! Went to PS 208 hung with: Steven Smith, Oneil Torres, John Rodriguez, Katrece McGirt, Sybil Swain, and so many more. Then off to Booker T. Washington 54. Hung with: Hansford Owens, Wayne Grey, Rhonda Echols, Robert Velez, Artie Johnson, and so many more. Next was Julia Richman HS. Hung with: Butch, Daryll, Lamar, Derrick, Charlie, Patrick, Ken-Hutch, Joseph Lopez, Mel-Blunt (always screaming "Foster" Projects.) We were part of the cool but bad scene. Here I hung out in the lunchroom playing spades (remember the Championship belts) & rolling dice & other not so proud stuff, rather than in a classroom doing work. I went from "Honors" to getting kicked out of school. I am in the year-book (88), but I didn't graduate. So I went to "Manhattan Comprehension Night HS" there I hung with my cousins Jan & Stasie, and my peeps Mokeisha, Joanne, and some others. After quitting (so not challenging), I returned to FINALLY graduate in 1992 (just making the cut-off age for H...Expand for more
S). From there I went to "Lehman College" for a couple of years, but left. So I never finished college. I had a son (Jr.)in 93, and GOD has blessed me since then. I have been fortunate to: have a job where I can retire, Joined a "Masonic" fraternity, win custody of my son (Jr.), settle down and get married (8/14/2004), got me a great step-son (Kyhalil), had me a beautiful baby boy (Terrell), and expecting my LAST bundle of joy in August-07 (and it's a girl!). So life might have been a little rough in the past, but the only thing I would have changed would be to go to some of my classess instead of the lunchroom all day!(lol) I would still like to have a Richman reunion (even though I didn't graduate) as well as a BTW54 reunion! I hope to hear from some of my old classmates soon. So take care and be E-Z!
College
I WENT TO LEHMAN COLLEGE FOR 2 YEARS. MY MAJOR WAS SOCIAL WORK, BUT I NEVER FINISHED DUE TO THE FACT I BECAME A NEW FATHER; AND ME AND HIS MOTHER BOTH WORKED (LAME EXCUSE). SO ALOT OF TIMES I MISSED CLASS AND JUST HUNG IN THE GYM PLAYING BASKETBALL. DO I REGRET IT...HELL YEAH! JUST FOR THE EXPERIENCE. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A GOOD JOB; I WOULD STILL LIKE TO BECOME A SOCIAL WORKER FOR JUVENILE KIDS ONE DAY. WE WILL SEE....ONE DAY!
