Lance's Story
I attended Channel Island High School (CIHS) from 1988 to 1992. I was best known for volunteering as the game film videographer for the JV and varsity football teams, where I filmed home and away games all four years I attended high school. I used to cut together highlight tapes for the teams at the end of the season--a sort of video yearbook if you will-- which the players loved. For my efforts, I lettered in football two years in a row, probably the only person to ever letter in football at CIHS without ever touching the ball!
After graduating from CIHS, I attended Moorpark College where I majored in Computer Science and Political Science, then transferred to University of California,
Santa Barbara. During my college years I became very active in politics, locally and statewide. I served as the Ass...Expand for more
ociated Students President of Moorpark College and as the Student Trustee for the Ventura County Community College District Board of
Trustees. I was also the Policy Director for the California Student
Association of Community Colleges.
Later I attended the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business where I earned my Masters in Business Administration, graduating with honors.
Today I am the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the California Medical Association (CMA), a nonprofit professional association that represents more than 50,000 physicians and surgeons from all modes of practice in the State of California. I have worked for the CMA for more than 20 years.
I live in Sacramento and am married to Shanda Hubner Lewis. We have two children, Braden and Emma.
