yo.
after graduating, i went to EKU and wiggled my way into a computer science degree. then i spent 5 years at the university of cincinnati working on a phd in computer engineering. i ended up with an "abd" (all but dissertation). so no little fancy piece of paper.
after cincinnati, i got a job in san diego. the job was fun, but i absolutely hated san diego. so that ended up being 5 years of hell.
since i was doing remote contract work, i realized that i could live anywhere i wanted, so i packed it in and moved portland, oregon. that's where i live now and it rocks hell with an iron fist. i can't imagine living anywhere else now. it's beautiful, the people are nice, and there's always something to do.

code monkey for a long time now and i still like it. sometimes it's hard to work with other computer nerds, so i try to work (for money) as little as possible. over the past few years i've filled my free time with making pottery and going to as many shows as i can (but i refuse to pay the ticketmaster tax, so that puts a crimp on things). over the past few months i've started writing crappy poetry. wheee.
i miss aspects of henry county: some people, the land, etc, but i've never regretted leaving. however, i may have left in a bit of rush and lost a few things. that's the way it goes i guess.
