Lara's Story

Life Life Bio...wow. Well 1993 was an eventful year, graduation in June, married in September, and my first child in November. The following year I had my second and last child. 6yrs later I got a job at Wal*Mart and have been there 9 yrs now. I'm aspiring to retire as a door greeter...talk about ambition..:) I was married from 1993 to 2003. ten years of a learning experience. life is nothing more than a comprimise. I have not accomplished any great thing except to raise two beautiful wonderful little girls. They teach me as much as I try to teach them. Seeing one self reflected in their personalities and behaviors makes you learn alot about yourself. My girls are 13 and 14 going on 30. it only seems like yestrday I was thier age. I'm 33 now, single mom living back in the house i grew up in, but NOT with my parents. I have a little mutt Named Charlie Ann, whom falsely believes she's the Alpha female in the house. I presently am single. I wish I could say i have made some great mark on this world we live in, but that's not the case. I may never be known world wide, but as long as the people I do come in contact with walk away with something, hopefully something positive then all is well. We have a 15 year reunion coming up... I don't think I have been this scared and excited since I got married and had kids! I wish I had botherd to join Jenny Craig..but I didn't so I will be bringing my big butt.. and I can't wait to see everyone adn find out where life has taken them. I wonder i...Expand for more
f life is what and where they thought it would be. I know my life is not. Our graduating year I had a child on the way...and I was getting maried. I thought ten years form then me and my ex husband would be together and experiencing our childrens journeys in life together. Instead.. we have been divorced almost 5 yrs now.. I do most of the watching and experiencing by myself. I would never had guessed I'd be a single mom and doing most of this on my own. I have learned how strong I am... and also how weak I can be. Marriage was a journey I learned a lot from. Everyday is a challenge to make love work. You have to grow together, lift each other up. Unfortunately Me and My girls' father grew apart, but theres nothing I regret.. I would do it all again. It's got me where I am today and I think even against all the odds my girls are flourishing. Being a mom has been the toughest and most rewarding job yet. I never fail to look at my children and be in awe... they are so innocent... and yet they are so "aware". Ofcourse I been guilty of talking to them to much about sex, drugs, and the realities of life. I just don't want there to be any unnecessary surprises. I want nothing more than for them to be aware of their choices, and the consiquences they bring.. good or bad. Everyday my greatest fear is I'm not protecting them enough, and in the same thought, that Im over protecting them. As you can see, being a mom is the most important thing to me. I love my girls more than anything.
