Larry's Story
Life
Hey whats up y'all? I am currently living in Savannah, GA working as an Engineer for a company called Doncasters. I am in charge of several different process for the manufacture of airfoil blades. One is the manufacture of IGT's (Industrial Gas Turbine) blades used in GE's turbine engine facility in Greenville, SC for electrical propulsion. Another is ECM (Electical Chemical Machining) blades used by the Army in several of the helicopter (T55 Engine) compressor engines and a few of there tank (AGT-1500) engines. I create solid model of parts in UG and supply tool path data to other engineers for metal cutting ...Expand for more
operations and write all CMM (Coordinated Measuring Machines) programs for quality checks, just to name a few. I travel often, usually to Hartford, CT for training and meetings at our corporate office and went to England last year for 3 weeks. Always learning something new.
I went to EUP (Edinboro University) for 3 years studing Manufacturing Engineering then transfered to RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) where I received my undergrad in Computer Integrated Manufacturing Engineering. I learned a great deal in New York from college and on the job training.
