Larry's Story
Life
Graduated from Arizona State in 1979
with an unused degree in business administration. U.S.
Air Force pilot on the venerable Lockheed C-141B Starlifter. Flew worldwide. I really liked doing
the airdrop and air refueling missions.
Invaded Granda and flew in Desert Storm in 1991.
(two-time recipient of the Too Stupid to
Be Afraid Medal). 6 years active duty and 9 years
in the USAF Reserves, retired at the
rank of Major. Flew a few years at TWA,
left there for the much greener and
secure pastures at United Airlines. I've flown the Boeing 727, 737, 757 and 767. I just finished flying 10 years as captain on the 737, what a great airplane. I am currently an Airbus A-320 captain base in Denver, getting used to my new ride. As a Boeing man for all these years the Airbus does take a little getting used to. I get a nice mix of trans-continental and domestic hop around flying.
Hobby-wise my family and I take advantage of the snow in Colorado and go skiing a couple of times each year. I've always liked playing the guitar and I was in a garage band for awhile but we quit playing so I decided to take some serious lessons and get as good as I could on the guitar. w what it means to be in the Key of G and I can make an E minor flat 9th. I've got so much musical equipment laying around I am thinking about starting another band. I like doing the stuff from the 60s and 70s (Beatles, Eagles, SRV, Neil Young and a smattering of other artists)
You folks from Eagle Mountain might recall that my brothers Bill and Chuck had bands (The Vibrations) so I get it from them.
On the personal side, I am married to
Joy Stevens, from Mesa, Arizona. We met
when I was in college at Arizona State. Joy said she married me so other women wouldn't have to know or date me, so thanks for taking one for the team honey.
I worked at her dad's flight school.
We married in 1988. We have two
children, Katie (born in 1994) and Andy
(1997).
Life is good. Hope to hear from

**If you look at my Fun Facts below you might wonder why my dream vacation is my couch. I travel so much that when I do get time off I need a day or so to rest up. Also it shows my schools listing Delta and Belmont-those are my wife's former schools.
