Larry's Story
Life
After graduation, I got a job at an insurance company and worked there about 5 years. After a massive layoff occurred in '93, I got in with a computer install and repair type of company that finally got me started in the technology direction. After doing that type of service for a couple of years, I found out the hard way that Macon and the middle GA area just was not paying what technology engineers really needed to be paid.
So it was off to the Atlanta area in '95 and life and my career finally started taking off in the right direction. Work was good and of course, the night life and all other entertainment was great; so many nice places to eat up there as well.

ting to me after 27 years of putting up with it, so I put in for a job transfer within MCI and moved to Colorado Springs where I have lived ever since '98. I love the climate, the winters, and the dry air.
MCI Worldcom's infamous layoffs finally got me in the Cisco Engineering field early in '03, so I got on a month later at Lockheed Martin for the Dept of Defense at Norad, and I like it there; not many worries with layoffs in the DOD field. I'm still in the Cisco engineering field and will most likely stay there. Several people ask me, will I ever go back home? My answer, "NO WAY", life is too enjoyable and comfortable out here.
