Larry's Story
Life
What have I been up to? The brief synopsis:
As a life hobby I have raced motorcycles and bicycles pretty much since Crockett. I was fortunate enough to win 7 National Championships on the motorcycle and a World and National Championship on the bicycle. I got to travel all over the U.S. and went to Europe and Canada a couple of times to race. I still race today and am currently training and riding to compete on a team in The Best In The Desert Series for the 2010 season. I will also be racing solo in the WORCS Series. One of the highlights of my racing career was in 2007 when I got to compete on a Pro team in the SCORE Baja Series fufilling a life-long dream. We raced the motorcycle in the San Felipe 250, the Baja 500, and the Baja 1000. We finished second for the season and it was a beautiful and spectacular season.
I have flown my racing pigeons on and off over the years but mainly just feed and watch them lately. For several years I did stand up comedy. I even made a little money at it and had alot of fun. I have always been a bit the jokester.
I went to The University of Kansas for a while and majored in Film then went to Missour...Expand for more
i State with a dual major in Creative Writing and Biology. I sold cars for many years before buying a cleaning business. I sold the cleaning business a couple of years ago and started a motorcycle shop-Flying Monkey Motorsports. I closed it last year and simplified my life. I now sell Vintage motorcycle parts on the Internet.
As far as where I have lived-After Crockett I moved to Odessa then back to Austin for a bit. In 1976 I moved to Springfield, Missouri. I lived about 7 years in Lawrence, Kansas before moving back to Springfield where I live today.
I am twice married and divorced. I have 2 grown daughters and 6 Grand Children. My kids followed my example instead of my advice. I have been single a couple of years now and have not given up hope on romance. I have always been the hopeless romantic.
Today I mostly work eBay, work out, walk my dog companion Buck, feed my pigeons, and go off to races. I still write some short stories and write at a couple of partly finished books and a screenplay.
What have I been up to? Just trying to live life so that at the end I can come to a halt sliding sideways to proclaim, "What a ride!"
