Larry's Story
Life
My Spouse
I have been married twice. After 13 years and 2 children the first wife decided she didn't want to be married any longer so she filed for divorce.
Six months later a mutual friend introduced me to my current wife. We met on a blind date. Four months later we were married. That was Dec. 30, 1979
My Kids
From my first marriage I have a son and a daughter. My son who is the oldest is married and lives with his family in Mississippi. He works for a computer company as a CAD Tech.
My daughter is a single parent and has a son who is the pride of our lives. They live just an hours drive from us so we get to see them almost every weekend.
When I remarried I gained a wonderful daughter. She was only 6 years old then, but years have passed and she has her Masters Degree in Psychology, is married and lives and works in Seaside, Ca.
My Job
From 1963 to 1990 I worked for my ex-father-in-law who was a HVAC contractor. When he retired He turned the business over to his youngest daughter (not my ex-wife), and myself. That was a...Expand for more
partnership made in Hell and lasted 3 months. I took my hard earned License and went out on my own leaving her to fend for herself.
I now work as an Independant Contractor, subing my labor working for a local HVAC Contractor. I install and service heating and airconditioning systems.Mostly residential. I especially enjoy working in the shop when I get a chance to do special projects like copper work. Oh, I get to do copper out on the jobs too at times
Military
I received that letter telling me Uncle Sam wanted me to give a couple of years for my country. I first went to Fort Ord, Calif to get my head shaved and a new set of clothes. They I was flown to Fort Sam Houston, Texas. In Texas I was given basic training then what they called AIT which for me was training to be a Medical Cadet.
While in training the whole class I was in was offered to be sent to Nurses training for which we would have been obligated for 2 more years of service after graduation. I turned down the offer and instead chose to volunteer to be a member of Project Whitecoat.
