Larry's Story
Life
It is hard to believe but 2001 marked my 30th and final year in professional baseball. After 21 years as the Head Athletic Trainer with the Cincinnati Reds and nine years with the Florida Marlins, because of an ownership change I was forced to make a decision on staying in pro baseball. Since the offer I received from the Montreal Expos was mediocre at best and embarressing at worst, I decide to make a career change. My first priority was not traveling -- so starting August 1 I will be returning to the academic world at Nova Southeastern University as Assistant A.D./Sports Medicine. I have been very lucky to have been a part of four World Championship Teams, traveling around the U.S. and World and meeting some great people. But I am most proud of my beautiful wife, Linda, of 31 years and two beautiful and talented daughters, Laura (20) and Amy (18).
I feel God has blessed me with a great family and great health and I looked forward to the challenges ahead at the university level.
My best to all my classmates and I would hope a 40-year reunion would be planned for 2004!
P.S. 40th Reunion was a hoot! Already looking forward to 45th -- Pat Moody is the chairman!
