Larry's Story
After graduating Mater Dei in 1968, I enrolled in the University of Evansville. I pledge the TKE fraternity in the Fall of 1968. The next 5 years at the college were by far the best years of my life. Being in the fraternity helped me mature and come out of my shell. What I enjoyed the most besides earning a degree was playing Intramural sports. Even though I didn't get to play high school sports, I ended up being one of the best overall athletes in the fraternity and one year participating in 10 of 13 sports. I even set the Intramural pool record for the 50yd breaststroke. I also rode on the fraternity team for the BIG 39 bike race.

e. My first job was with a company that started the use of barcode technology in the world. The first application was for the rail industry. They use to have large colored barcodes on all the rail cars. The president, David Collins and MIT graduate, invented the scanners used to read the labels as cars came into and left rail yards. I was sent to Shreveport, La. for 8 months to become the Operations Manager. After that is was sent to Westwood, Ma. to learn how to program the systems before doing 2 more installations in Chicago and Detroit. A lawsuit ended my career there and I then moved back to Evansville to take a job with Whirlpool as an Associate Analyst.
