Larry's Story
Life
After High School I started school at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. That wasn't what I wanted so I took some time off and worked for Domino's Pizza. A close friend convinced me to attend Illinois State University so I did and majored in Music Education. I graduated in 1993 and took a job as orchestra director at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL where I worked for four years. My wife and I (married in 1994) moved to Aurora, IL so I found some teaching job...Expand for more
s in the Dupage county area. Got my masters degree in 1998 from National Louis University and that same year was inducted into the National Task Force on Guitar Education. I started teaching part time at VanderCook College of Music but left after I found it unsatisfactory. I published my first book in 2002 and now I teach summer guitar workshops, consult for school districts and teach orchestra in Glen Ellyn, IL. I am also an active guitar player and private guitar teacher in Aurora, IL.
