Larry's Story
Lets connect on Facebook, but first some details, after leaving HighSchool, I went to B.U., where after a stint as a pre-med major, got a degree in philosophy and religion. Married Natalie, who I met at school. After the summer of '65 I never spent more than a few days in Salem again.
In '68, I went to McGill University in Montreal. I got a MA in Philosophy and Anthropology. Natalie and I were divorced there, and I went on to teach i n the junior college system there for two years.
In '72, I moved to Manhattan (the Village) and began a Ph.D. program at the New School University. Lived in the village 13 years, taught at several schools including Long Island University. Finally moved to a job as an administrator and teacher at Rutgers. Married Debbie, who is a nurse educator, and bought a house here in western New ...Expand for more
jersey near the Delaware river. We have two kids, a boy, Alex and a girl, Tori (Victoria).
Alex will soon be 20, and is in Biomedical engineering at Boston University. Tori wants to be an early childhood teacher, and we are waiting to see where she's go to college. She wants some place in Boston.
Mom and Dad continued to live in Salem until '72, when they sold the house near the college and moved to a condo in Swampscott. Dad, who lived and worked in Salem most of his life, died in '86, and my Mom, who attended Salem High School and Salem State, and taught at the High School lived on her own for years before moving here so we could care for her 6 years ago. She died in the summer of '07 at age 99.
I teach at FDU, and Debbie travel to Africa to educate the local professionals in the latest treatments for HIV/AIDS.
