Latonya's Story
Life
I have one 3 year old daughter. All of my time is spent with her.
School
The teachers that inspired me the most were Mrs. Jones and Mr. Morris. They were 2 of the first teachers I had transferring from Jefferson Parish to Orleans Parish. They made me feel welcomed and not so nervous in a totally different atmosphere than what I was accustomed. If I could do it all over again, I would have gone away to college straight out of high school. My happiest times in high school were time spent with my fellow cadets in ROTC at BTW. My craziest times were spent with Chante (XUP). Combination funniest, happiest and craziest memories were with Monica (BTW). Between marching in parades and performing during halftime at football games with BTW; falling down from stepping into potholes in the lovely streets of New Orleans ...Expand for more
on the commute to and from XUP with Chante and all of the money I paid for demerits; my daily activities with Monica.. Doing hair, hanging out, etc... The good memories far out weigh the bad or missed out events.
College
I went. Wasn't all that I thought it would be. I'm finish (for now). I will go back. You can never learn too much.
Workplace
My first real job was at the police department as a 911 call taker/dispatcher. That job was interesting and it had its perks but the most rewarding job I have had so far has been being a mother. There is no better pay than unconditional love and appreciation. I've since changed career fields and after the New Year, now that my little one is old enough for school, I will be looking forward to getting back out there in the working world.
Military
Wanted to go but didn't.
