Laura's Story
Life
I landed in Iowa finally, after having lived in many places for a few months to a few years. I left Vernal and went into the military for a spell. I learned to speak Russian and became an interrogator (97E-RU). Eventually I married a soldier and left the service. His military tours sent us a few more places. We had a daughter born in Georgia (she is 19 now). Eventually we landed in Hawaii and our son was born there (he is 16 now). After he (my now ex-husband) left the service, we came to Iowa. Yes, Iowa is a real place. Yes, people actually live here. Really, all joking aside, Iowa is a nice place to live. Sadly, I did end up divorced.

tions in my home part time (you wouldn't believe how well sewing pays!), doing charity work, doing genealogy, quilting, reading, knitting, visiting Nauvoo (the Nauvoo temple has been rebuilt). I have a few more businesses on the side, to fill in the empty spaces; I never run out of things to do and am never bored.
I finally grew into my own as it were. My personality blossomed and I have so many friends now, I still wonder how it happened. People are so kind to me here, I feel as though I am protected and cared for. I have remarried and life is wonderful!
School
I remember Mr. Hoyt (Jr. High Algebra), Ms. Johnson, Mr. Massey. Mr. Holt inspired me, Ms. Johnson predicted my future (professional typist), and Mr. Massey is a man I respect completely.
