Laura's Story
Life
I have moved around so much I'm glad to finally be in one spot. It's always been hard to keep in touch with classmates and old friends, there's been so many. Moved to Germany while still in high school and started college there. After college, I worked, travelled, and partied some. In 1997 I met my husband and married in 2000. Which was a big step for me since I was a self proclaimed, eternal, bachelorette. I have two, four-legged kids, a dog and a cat. We don't want any of the two legged kind. I create stained glass and glass sculpture pieces. My family is close by and my friends are my best friends I've ever had; I wouldn't change a thing.
School
I have nothing good to say about school, except I'm glad it's over. OK, maybe one thing, I met and kept in touch with some great people and I'm sure these relationships have helped make me who I am today. Other than that, school does not consume my thoughts.
College
After high school, I still lived in Germany. I attended the University of Maryland in Frankfurt, Germany for 1 1/2 years. In 1991 I moved back to Texas and attended Levelland College for 1 year. My family moved back to Louisiana so I followed and attended LSU for 1/2 a year. I was in a pretty bad car wreck and was forced to drop out. I never went back but I don't regret it. I'm doing what I want to be doing and I'm very happy with the path my life has taken.

to school. Jan. 21, 2009 Laura is a student once again, this time there will be a degree. In three years I should be a Mortician, let's keep our fingers crossed.
Workplace
Work Bio, how boring! Let's see, in Germany I worked for AAFES. After college, in Louisiana, I worked for Merry-Go-Round, Bookland, Musicland, Maison Blanche, and Dillards. I was a manager at Musicland in Jackson, MS. Sick and tired of retail, I started working for Templet-N-Templet Welding Supply Co., Baton Rouge LA. First just grunt work, later I became their Collections Manager. I loved my job and would consider it one of my greatest life experiences. After T-n-T, I decided to start my own pet sitting service and it went ok for a while. Sometimes I do stained glass and glass sculptures out of my home. I'd have to say this is by far the best job I've ever had. My brother-in-law created a great website for me.
I was later employed by PetsMart(something to do), as their Front End Manager. It's kind of like a Customer Service Manager, among other things. When New Orleans was hit by hurricane Katrina, I quit my job at Petsmart in case I needed to help with the family businesses. In 2006 I started selling Mary Kay, again something to do, and it's been fun.
So, 2009, huh? I'm about to be a student for 3 years to get a degree in Morturary Science...woohoo! Still selling Mary Kay and cranking out some stained glass every now and again.
