June 2010 I have been back in Pella for a little over two years. I love living here, but have to say, there is not much activity for a 40 something w/o kids. I also believe that someone must meet the single men of the world on the city limit and turn them away. Dad has been gone for 11 years. I still have people ask me how he is. Mom hates it, but I usually say, "Well, you know Scooter, he doesn't change much..." Hey - it is an honest answer. Mom retired in 2003 after teaching in Pella for 31 years. She is still in Pella and loves her condo. She battles a few health problems, but is on the go a lot. It is pretty hard to keep track of her. I have been adopted as an unofficial aunt by five teenagers, so my days are kept pretty busy with playing games, going to the pool and whatever exhausting activities they can think of.. Is it time for school to start yet? I wish I could say I am enjoying my second childhood, butI need some sleep! really, they are great kids and I have a blast with them.
