Laura's Story

Life My Pets i have a 15 year old dog,"jag", that my older son got for me because he was moving out, and was worried about me being alone. jag is a black chow-lab mix, and very protective and loving.("jag" went to the rainbow bridge the day after Thanksgiving, 2011. i miss that big fuzz ball.) my cat's name is "kalilah", but she's known around here as "kali" for short. she is an 18 year old female maine coon cat, and is extremely possessive of me (and her toys). (she crossed the rainbow bridge in October 2010) now that i am at my son's house, i have an adopted grandcat named "zelda" and she is a sleek, black domestic short hair. she's beautiful. and she, too, is 17.("zelda" crossed the rainbow bridge August 2009) i have a new kitty named "Chloe, Miss Kitty". she is about 1 year old, very bright and an active tuxedo, part Siamese, and a definite kleptomaniac! but gotta love her. i have recently moved to Rio Vista. it is a little reminiscent of how Antioch was back when i was growing up; quiet, limited shopping opportunities, and friendly natives. i am home. ...Expand for more
My Kids my older son is a graduate of St. Mary's College in Moraga, and was a fourth grade teacher and taught elementary school for 7 years. he is now a realtor. my younger son graduated from uc davis, and now lives in Iowa, but is soon moving back to California.. he has been a police officer on the des moines police force for about 3 years. he saved a toddler from perishing in a fire during the holidays. (my younger son has since moved to CA, and it is wonderful to have him, my daughter-in-law, and my grandson closer.) My Grandson i have a new grandson born in April 2010; which makes him a Tiger on the lunar calendar. he is that. and he is the light of my life. ask me about him... go ahead. i can talk about him for hours. My Granddaughter i am impatiently waiting for my new baby granddaughter to arrive. when she gets here, you can be assured, i will post pictures! we anticipate her arrival any day now. (she is here, arrived in April of 2014, and needless to say, she's very cute) My Job i am a retired clerical worker for the department of transportation (CALTRANS).
