Laura's Story
High School
In high school I was a very shy & awkward young woman. Consequently, I was bookish and looked like a total nerd. What people didn't know was that I had my fun side too, and now that I am older, I can express myself a lot better. I love to have fun! :-)
If I could do it all over again, I would probably have taken better care of my appearance, been more confident in my interactions, dated guys from DIFFERENT high schools, and not let bullies push me around. I should have also gotten my driver's license a lot earlier too! :-)
High School Friends
There were some classmates that I saw again at our 10-year reunion that I'd love to hang out with again: Lisa Burnett, Lisa Rocha, Roberta Rodusky, as well as a few that I didn't see there but would love to see again from the marching band: Ludim Santos, Martha Gonzalez, & Vicki Bastian.
Life
I currently work as a massage therapist and own my own business, Therapeutic Bodyworks Mobile Massage Therapy. I married a wonderful man on July 12, 2008 and am enjoying married life! We live in Lakewood with our twin sons, Joshua & Kyle.
College
When I first walked through UC Berkeley's campus, I ...Expand for more
was scared and intimidated. But I met some wonderful people who I've never forgotten, even though I haven't spoken to them in over 15 years. If you're out there Peter H., Patrick H., and Tina M.--I miss you! I didn't finish my degree there, but earned an AA from Laney College. I also attended National Holistic Institute (NHI) in Emeryville, CA where I earned my Massage Therapy certificate.
Workplace
I was the Credit Manager & Office Manager for a wholesale food distribution company in the San Francisco Bay Area where I worked for 11 years.
I left there to move back home and worked as the ACH Specialist for a local credit union for 8 years.
Life Now
In July 2006 I met a wonderful man who I married two years later on July 12, 2008. We went on an African safari for our honeymoon (we visited South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana.) I love that my husband, Bob Havlik, enjoys travel as much as I do. Together we've traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal; Washington, DC; Africa; and Michigan. We hope to start traveling throughout Europe (and I really hope to visit Greece sometime soon!.) We had twin boys in 2012 and life has been a roller coaster ever since!
