Laura's Story
Life
I was very shy in highschool, but once I left Alaska all that changed. I love living in Texas and have a wonderful husband of 33 years and 2 great children, ages 22 and 19. I came out of my shyness totally once we had children. Ours are adopted and I can't recommend it more. We own our own business and have since 1981, basically, just different ones. Our church family is the most loving group of christians I've ever met and growing spiritually is so awesome when you see your kids doing the same. I'm the Sunday school director now and we have alot of unchurched kids attending, not their parents though and what a shame for that.
School
I worked through high school so didn't get much socializing in..bummer now I say and no I won't make my kids work ..much. :-) I loved home-ec and it h...Expand for more
as served me well through the years, being very hospitable is so rewarding and I learned alot from Ms. Mayes. I don't have any real great memories of highschool-everyone was so "clickish". I'd love to see how some of them turned out. :-)
College
I took a few classes at a Jr. College in photography and computers..but work and family are far more important to me, than sitting in a classroom and paying someone else to teach me about life and business. Just do it yourself and let God be the head of it all.
Workplace
My husband Mike and I own the company. We strive on great service to the public concerning their vehicle needs doing tires, wheels, mufflers, and other things. I'm not there now, I work at Howard College in the administrative part with the President.
Military
Never had the desire.
