Laura's Story

Friends, (forgive my spelling).. You have a story to share too; I hope you will. I have been out of touch with this part of my life since 1974. I hope to hear from those of you that remember me. I live in Topeka with my husband Mitch Cooper. We have two daughters attending KU- one in Lawrence and the other KU-Med-School of Nursing. I am retired as of Aug/08. I had worked for the State in several different positions; ranging from teaching Survival Skills for Women to Specializing in working with seniors and people with disabilities. I am free for the first time in my life and doing everything to make the most of it. I am working of putting together my art studio. I make baskets, work in fused glass, and other very unique art forms!! I am following in my Dad's foot steps. My life as changed so much since the High School years none of you would believe all the events - good and bad - I have lived thru to be able to get to...Expand for more

Story Wizard note- I always wanted to be a traveler when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a not an option. As it turns out, they were partly correct. I have been to the Middle East (several countries)(with first husband) and South America, Mexico and Canada several times (with adult women friends). My path is still leading me forward.. I will be traveling again - but at this time I do not have a clear view of where I will be going. My hope is Egypt. I have alredy climbed above the tree canopies of South America and Mexioo, and visited the nomatic peoples of the Iranin deserts, but I have yet to climb the last wonder of the world in Gaza. I have great faith that the path I am on teaches me wisdom and hummililty...and so very much more.... Wishing you peace.
