I also remember my parents being very strict, me not being allowed to date, always being overweight, never being in the "in crowd." At any rate, my family's attitudes and low income kept me out of college, and the only way I knew to leave home at 18, I took; I got pregnant and married, in that order. My daughter is a fine human being, living in Texas with her daughter. I divorced at 24, remarried at 38, divorced again at 43, married again at 50. All o...Expand for more
f this was GOOD. I moved to California in the early 70's and to Vancouver, WA in early 2005. Life is very good. I love my profession, and will seek work as soon as we finish moving in. My husband has a doctorate in clinical hypnotherapy, and will be building that practice as he winds down his engineering career. We are Unitarian Universalists, politically and socially liberal, fiscally conservative. Our lives are full and our relationship is rich. Between us, we have 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. I attended the 2003 reunion, and especially loved seeing Terry Edwards, and Larry Wendland. Laura Smith Stephens

Perhaps my favorite photo from our recent trip, at least the one that made me smile, taken in Madrid.
Mimmu Aimo, this one's for you.

Simple, simple, simple, but nice enough to keep some child cozy.
My favorite valentine, Maggie Smith Barr, sent this one in 2017. Caption said, "We're good friends because we share the same high level of maturity and sophistication."
Here's an update to my "me in the flowers"series, today in Veneta, Oregon.

Scrappy quilts seem to be my thing ... I'm working on using up all the greens (#1).
Scrappy quilts - more greens (#3). The back of this one will be (for you who know fabric designers) Martha Negley's Vegetable Leaves (featured in some half blocks and the outer front border).
Scrappy green quilt (#2), given to the Children's Justice Center in Vancouver, WA
My grandson, Carson Ems (son of Ilana Ems) helps to design quilts. Here's one of his happy creations (given to the Children's Justice Center).

Still happy and healthy, living in Washington, partying in Ohio, and being sassy wherever I go. It's fun.
