Laura's Story
Life
I did not finish my education at Garland High but the students of the class of 82 are the kids I grew up with so I consider GHS to be my alma mater.
Miraculously, I turned out OK, lol. For the last 20 years I have been a technical consultant for a local company that specializes in global travel technology distribution systems. This is the system used by travel agents to make reservations and airlines/hotels/car rental companies to manage and sell inventory. I work for a division that develops technology used by hotels. hotel bookings. I have lived behind the Ranch House for 20 years.
My beautiful daughter (33) is a 2004 Graduate of Wylie HS and went on to get a culinary degree and then a fine arts degree in photography. She is a teacher, living in NYC with her boyfriend, a professional jazz musician.
I have been married 2 times. The first lasted 12 years... my current husband and I have been together since 1995. My husband is a good guy, even though he went to SGHS (class of 73). He was one of the recruiters at the Army recruiting office next to the K-Mart on Walnut and North Star when we were at GHS.
I am still a maverick.
