Laura's Story
I've been happily married for 17 years now, and I have two beautiful girls, 9 and 13. I did go on to college, University of North Texas, and I received a bachelors degree in Applied Arts and Sciences. My majors were Psychology, Behavior Analysis, and Social Work. I worked for a number of years with autistic children using a behavioral approach to help them learn to communicate and interact with their environment. Basically, my job was to teach them how to learn. It was very rewarding. But then I had my first daughter and decided it was time to dedicate my time, energy, and love to my own child. It's now been more than a decade later, and I have not regretted my decision. I have been incredibly blessed.

ok back on my high school days, I whince a little, because I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I could have. My home life was terrible, and I carried the burden of it around on my teenage shoulders my entire high school career. Sometimes I used it as a shield and kept many would-be friends out. Still, there were some good times, and I did manage a few good friends too. And I'll never forget Wylie's great teachers who were a source of help and hope for me. Since then, I've moved on, and my life has been amazingly good. I feel richly blessed and am very thankful for each and every blessing in my life. Memories of Wylie High School for me are bittersweet, but I take the sweet that's in it and savor it every chance I get.
