Laurel's Story
Life
I married Devin Wala in 1988 after graduating from the University of Iowa. I then went to law school at Arizona State University. After law school, I worked at a large firm for a few years and then went in-house at PCS Health Systems (a prescription benefits manager). During my time at PCS I had two kids: Ryland Gerald Wala (born in 1996)and Lindsey Robin Wala(born in 1999). After PCS was bought and sold a number of times, I decided to establish my own law firm along with 4 of my friends. We formed The Phoenix Law Group in 2002. ts business in Payson, Arizona. Payson is a small mountain town located about 1 1/2 hours northeast of Phoenix. I love living in a small town again after 16 years in Phoenix! I work mostly out of my home using the internet and phone to communicate with my clients. Thus, I am able to be home for my kids while I work! As far as my clients know, I am a lawyer working in a office in Phoenix; as far as my kids know, I am a stay-at-home mom! I couldn't ask for a better life!
One of our family's highlights this year was taking our kids to Paris right after Christmas! We were there for 7 days and did lots of sightseeing! We were amazed at how much our kids picked up about French history and culture!
