Laurie's Story
Life
hey everyone! OK, so i have no idea what I'm doing here, so bear with me. I am absolutely computer spastic. Well since the big graduation from WVRHS I've earned an associates degree from good old SCCC. I've taught nursery school on and off over the years. For abut 11 years I was a private nanny for the same family. In August of 2000 I got married (Roxanne Van Acker was there-she's married to my cousin, as is Carl Ross-well not the same cousin, but you understand). My husband, Peter, and I had our first of FOUR children November 2001 and I've basically cranked one out every year or so since! After Dominic was born and my nanny job was coming to an end we made the decision to let Dad be the breadwinner and I became a stay at home mom. Hands down the best decision I ever made. As some of you may know I do work at the Newton Walmart on the weekends, at the courtesy desk, mainly to give my crazy life some much needed adult interaction. We have Dominic, age 6, Peter Jr ( i lost a bet), he'll be 5 in March, Kaitlyn (supreme ruler of all male family members), turning 4 in Feb. and the "angel" of the family, Matthew, who will be 2 in January. Peter and I lived in Scenic Lakes at the begining of our marriage however we made the move over the bridge into Dingmans Ferry 2 weeks after baby #2 came. Let's face it, as much as I love New Jersey, you just can't raise a family on one income there...Expand for more
. I see some of our fellow wallkill valley rangers out and about, mainly while i'm at work but as far as keeping in touch with anyone goes i am totally out of the loop. I see wedding and birth announcements in the paper and I am always happy for each of you and the good going on in your lives. Do I have the most prestigious career of our classmates? Ah, NO! Would I be the one anyone would considered the big success story of our graduating class-doubt it. Have I achieved academic hieghts worthy of your envy-no doctorate degree on my wall, just an AA in Liberal Arts (short by about 3 semesters of a Bachelors in educatiion that will be completed as soon as the kids all hit school age). Am I wildly rich -hahaha!! Do i have a long list of life long friends that i've had since like forever? Nope. Am I still the coolest person I know? Simply, yes. Do I have the best life? Again yes. Will I wake up every day and thank God that I have this family and this crazy life-absolutely! And the only thing I can say to anyone of you is I hope you feel the same way about your own life. I hope we all feel like the most successful, most accomplished, richest (in life), coolest person in our class and we don't let anyone take that away from us.
now I have to go get these hoodlums to school and out of my hair before I go totally insane! Best to all
