Life
I just realized that it has been seven years since I have been on Classmates!
After SLV I left the Valley to attend college and never really returned to the San Lorenzo Valley. I attended universities in several states before realizing that my heart will always be in California. I married my college sweetie 32 years ago and we have made Shasta County (near Shasta Dam where it is usually 105-110 degrees in the summer!) our home. Our two daughters were born here in the north state. One is a Biology major at UC Santa Cruz and the other is a brand-new mom (making me a grandparent!).
I have a Master's Degree in Psychology/School Counseling and work as a high school counselor which, for me, is the best...Expand for more
job in the world! I love working with teenage people and can easily relate to those kids who are not enjoying high school as I did not enjoy high school.
I still miss the town of Boulder Creek. My parents moved us up from L.A. in 1958 to "Spring Hill Ranch" on Irwin Way. My parents sold the ranch in 1973 but it is still exists as a horse-training facility to this day. I have great memories of Boulder Creek: "Boulder Creek Days", swimming at "The Junction" and at Forest Pool, the Burl Theater, Jack's Country Store and going to the Locatelli's for an amazing Italian Dinner! I feel fortunate to have grown up in such a beautiful area and would love to acquire a little "fixer" cabin somewhere on the river.
