Lawanda's Story

Life Right now my life is great and God has blessed me tremendously. I cannot complain. I have a wonderful husband and 3 lovely kids. I have 18 year old stepdaughter (Rahsheika) that my husband and I raised together from a baby. She graduated this year from Coconut Creek High. My son David is 13 years old in the 7th grade and attends Silver Lakes Middle and is a honor roll student and the next Dwayne Wade.My precious baby Desirae will be 3 on June 14. She is keeping me young because I waited so long. She is going to be an entertainer I think. I see it already. She does ballet and tap and she loves to perform. I am done I made sure my Dr took care of that. I have a very busy life. My husband works for UPS and we own a Barber Shop as well. I work for the Broward Sheriff's Office and between my job and the buisness and the children that's enough. We take about 3 vacations a year and in between that we try to get in fun time with the family and then for ourselves. I have been married for 14 years and it's still going strong thanks to the good Lord above. We have had our ups and down but that is what makes us strong. Who said it would be easy. I hope you enjoyed. School I enjoyed all my school years from Elementary to High School. In Elem I enjoyed Field Day because I was in mostly all the events and getting those little ribbons was so excited. That's why I encourage my children to enjoy their school years because you cant get ...Expand for more
those days back. I like when we had fire drills and the whole school had to exit outside. And don't talk about the Pep Rallies. And when we went on the Disney Trips and GradNite. Those were the good days and I had a blast. College I went to school right after high school.(Barna College of Health Sciences) I wish I would have went away but things work out for the best. I was working in the Pharmacy while in school so I decided to pursue a A.S. degree in Pharmacy Technology. I stayed in that field from 1989 to 2000. I had two great jobs in Pharmacy but then I wanted another career before I got far in age so I change to Law Enforcement. I do plan to go back to school and earn a degree in this field as well. But I am not ready for another school loan yet:) Workplace Right now I am employed with the Broward Sheriff's Office. I have been here for 7 years. I started at the front desk (answering phones, fingerprints, records, ect...)also 911 and dispatch. That was too much for me. Then I worked on the road for a while and now I sit behind a desk in the AC.:) My career before Law Enforcement was Pharmacy. I have an AS Degree in Pharmacy Technician. I worked for Walgreens for 7 years and Caremark Prescription Service for 6 years. I do miss it sometimes but I am enjoying Law Enforcement and looking forward to going into other areas in the Agency. I am sure I will be retiring from Law Enforcement. No more moving around getting older.
