Leah's Story
Went to St. Louis High until 1958, then moved to Roscommon and finished school there in 1960. Went to Calif., married, had 2 children, divorced, remarried in 1968. Traveled some, settled in Eureka, CA. Retired in 2004, took the motor home, husband, and dog and traveled again. Worked the winter of 2004/05 in Texas. Went to Florida in the summer of 2005 to care for my father, who passed away in Sept of that year. Back to Texas for the winter. Then back to CA for the summer of 2006. Back in Texas for the winter, and that seemed to be the norm for the next few years. Then in March of 2011, my husband had 2 major heart attacks, a quadruple by-pass, and then a stroke. He fought long and hard, but died in July of 2011. I moved back to my home in CA and am sharing it with my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, 2 dogs, and a cat....Expand for more
God willing I will be traveling back to Michigan early June 2012 to see family and friends, and show my daughter where I lived and went to school. Well, did not make Michigan this year, but am going to try again next year. Hopefully I will make it and visit everyone I can.
Well, 2013 was a moving year. Sold my home in CA and bought one in Arizona, so have spent the spring and summer packing up, moving, and unpacking. This will be my last big move, but still plan on doing some traveling while I can. Well, it wasn't the last big move after all, moved to Michigan in 2017, and may be getting an RV and doing some traveling now that the country is opening up again. Getting too old to shovel snow, will spend summers here in Mich. and winters somewhere in the south.
