Life Damn, has it really been six years? Guess so. So, if any of you are reading this, here's some unsolicited Gardner info. I attended Trinity College in Burlington, Vt and graduated in '98 with a major in English and minor in women's studies. Loved Burlington so much that I stayed. Wandered around for a little over a year trying to decide what the hell to do with an English major. Wrote a novel nobody was really interested in, and then I began writing poetry seriously in 1999. Then, I started performing it, and realized what the hell I wanted to do. Shy, introverted Leah now is a slam poet. Slam poetry is competitive poetry scored by random judges. Most slam poetry is not what you'd find in some sophomore English textbook. It's pretty raw and loud. Slam is becoming pretty universal, and a major national slam competition is held every summer.
