Lee's Story
Hi....Good afternoon!
I call home, The Cayman Islands.
I moved to these islands four decades ago...having accepted that this was where I wished to spend the remainder of my life.
Indeed, I feel no sadness (no longer) living in the US nor do I have any remorse and for certain -I do not miss Chicago.
I particularly do not miss the cold winters and horrific winds from off the lake while waiting for the 153 bus to the El.
Wow,, that was so very long ago...wasn't it?
Of course, many of my family have passed away as have most of my dearest friends. nonetheless, there are still those few who remain close and who are still alive that choose to visit me here in Grand Cayman. .
Yes, I do live a full-filled life as I experience a great deal of international travel as I also have a home in Spain and an apartment in Paris.
Thus, I do get to travel a great deal more than most. However, I have worked hard and with integrity to get all that I have been blessed with..no one left me a business, nor was I a rich heir to a fortune. It was all made by hard work!
...and I am rather proud of this fact.
Yes, like others my age, my travel has now become less than I would wish as now that I have gotten older, I admit, the difficulty of international travel has become far more problematic -
Therefore, I do not ge...Expand for more
t to Europe as often as I wish. However, I do love being able to visit Spain and Paris...however, (for me) there is no place like that of my adopted home land, The Cayman Islands.
And, of course, as is the storey of many of our age, I' too have lost many of those whom I too have loved.
Yes, I am now in my late seventies the same as you - however, I can look back and smile as it's been a great ride. And, I know it's now near over...But, the truth is undeniable, age takes its toll and I am no where as quick of mind, my memory is far poorer, as is my hearing and eyesight too.
Nonetheless, I do look forward to whatever lies ahead with sincere excitement and wonder!
Sadly, I don't remember much about Senn. Nor do I remember many with whom I attended Stewart or Fairburn Avenue in Los Angeles... However, attending each of these schools did impact my life, as it also impacted your life, too.
No, I never graduated from Senn; as after my third semester, my parents sent me to a boarding school in Florida....and, from there I went to the University of Miami. And, from where I graduated in 61'.
And, it was then onto law school.
Yes, I' would love to hear from anyone who remembers me...from any of the schools I attended. And, If you write, I promise I will reply.
With respect and friendship,
Lee Aronfeld
