David (Lee)'s Story
I was born/raised in Shorewood, WI, living there 1945 - 1960. Then relocated to Glendale, WI; so I attended Lake Bluff Grade School (1st - 6th grades ) and Shorewood HS for 7th - 9th grades, i.e., before the advent of 'mid-schools'. Then I completed grades 10- 12 at Nicolet HS and in June, 1963 I graduated from Nicolet HS in Glendale, WI.
Name Change: This may be a bit confusing. You'll remember me as 'Lee D. Lampiris'. However, in 1975 while residing in Albuquerque, NM, I made a legal change of name for personal reasons. My name is David L. Ellis
Following High School I served in US Army (Uijongbu, Korea and Abilene, TX) as a 'secure' (i.e.,'encrypted teletype') communications technician'. After military service I, attended UW-Milwaukee and then in 1973 relocated to Albuquerque, NM where I received my BA in History and then an MBA (business). que, NM) in sales 2 years for NCR Corp and then 23 years at Sandia National Labs (part of Dept. of Energy, Nuclear Weapons Complex) as a 'Contracting Officer' (i.e., Manager of R&D Subcontracting). I retired from Sandia Labs Dec., 2002.
Wife (Lee) and I now reside, since 2004, in a (Del Webb Sun City) retirement community in Georgetown, TX). We lived in TX (20 yrs.) though we owned a condo in Eagle River, WI for 10 years which we sold in 2020.
We have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Lee's two sons reside: Steve in NC and Scott: w/wife Tracy, Riley-13, Austin-12, Logan-7 in AR.) My son, Brian and wife, Kelley, & Children: Tommy 10, Charlie 9 and Noelle 6 live in TN in the Nashville area. Brian is a bio-chemistry professor at a private school and Kelley is an engineer working for an oil company; both work in Nashville, TN.
