Lee's Story

Hey Guys, how is everyone! This seems like a great way to connect with all of my friends from soooooo long ago! My story is: right after THS I got married and had 3 babies, all girls, before I was 21. Now they are all grandmothers! We have a very prolific family. I got divorced after my 3rd baby was born and met Tommy Ricci from Providence, in 1970, and we've been together since. He owns a construction/demolition/asbestos removal business out of Johnston, RI. (American Building Co., in case anyone needs some work done, mention my name and he'll give you a great price. Specialty is demo and environmental services, but he does it all) hmmm, this is a good place to advertise! I never worked at one job for very long, but I have had some pretty cool jobs. In '93 we opened a grocery & deli in the Village of Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln, NH. That was a big undertaking for me and I loved that store. Met up with a few classmates there as well, Bobby McGeehan, Pete ? and Bobby Radock, and I was really surprised to see some people that I knew so far away from Pawtucket! In '97 we bought 30 acres on Main St. in Bethlehem, NH and after fighting with the town for years for approvals, we're building a recreation center, (golf range, mini golf, batting cages, arcade, snack bar, etc.) It'll be great when it opens, hopefully, in one or two years, it'll be a lucrative enterprise and bring us back all the money that we've put into it so far. I just hope that point isn't too far away when we're so old we won't be able to run it! LOL It's called The Village Green. As far as the family goes, my 3 girls, Tracey 44, Kelley 43 & Kristie 42, have given me 5 grandchildren, Ryan, 27, Tara 25, Elisha 23, David 21, & Jennifer 21. Ryan has a son, Brayden 4, and Tara has a daughter Tatyanna 6, and a son Isaiah 5, and she's having her third child (Aaden) sometime in October. Elisha has a baby boy, Bryce, that was born on May 11. So by the end of 2009 I'll have 5 great-grandchildren! Damn, how did I get so friggin' old! I have the cutest little dog, Casey, the Phalene style of a Papillion. He's the sweetest and smartest dog I've ever known. He's been with me for 8 years now and I love him to death...and he loves Tommy! When Tommy's around he totally snubs me. He follows Tommy's every footstep, cries and whines when Tommy goes out, leaving him with me alone, like I'm some cruel degenerate that's only good enough to feed him! Now you tell me, How rude is that??? Even when my first grandson was 2 and the TOTAL love of my life, he o...Expand for more
nly wanted Tommy. I used to cry! When Tom would talk to me and look at me, Ryan would put his little hand on Tom's face and turn it back to him! lmao! They all loved Tommy, I was just a bump on a log!!! To tell the truth, he could not have been a better father, grandfather or great-grandfather than if he was actually related by blood. He's a great, generous, thoughtful, kind-hearted guy and I love him dearly. I LOVE living in NH. I loved it when I lived in Lincoln when I had the store, I loved it when I lived in Ashland, right on Little Squam Lake, and I love it here in Bethlehem. It's the cleanest, most serene place I have ever found. (pop.1200) I'm still in awe of the mountains and I take nowhere drives just to see it all. One lane mountain roads that have never been paved, even had to turn around on a couple because of washouts. It's just so beautiful! Sometimes I can drive on 93, major highway like 95, to VT and never see another vehicle. I can't tell you how exhilarating that is...I hate traffic, I hate the booming radios, I hate RI's drivers. When I have to go back to RI to see the family I get agida as soon as I cross the line. Unfortunately, all of my family is in RI, well Elisha is in NC (her husband is in the Coast Guard), and David is in the Army stationed in Hawai'i. He recently returned from hell (Iraqi style) and right now he is in Georgia at Ranger school, then he'll be going back over to hell to fight Afghans. My heart goes out to him... Anyway suffice to say "I LOVE NH" I've been to Rome, Florence & Venice Italy, Niagra Falls, Montreal and Quebec, New Orleans, pre-Katrina, Vegas, every state from RI west to Minnesota, and every state down the eastern coast, to Florida & the Bahamas and right now I'm in the place where I hope I can be till I die. But then again, I have never been to places like Montana, Wyoming, Colorado etc. I'm sure they are just as nice or maybe even better than NH but I don't care, this is the place for me. OMG! It's like I'm writing a freaking novel here! Hope I've made a few people laugh and I hope you will get in touch with me to reminisce about the best years of growing up, St. Mary's, St. Teresa's and Tolman High. I had a wonderful time in HS and I feel bad for those that didn't, and I'm soooo happy that I can still remember it! It'll be great to hear from you...by classmates.com, or on facebook, or through email...it won't let me tell you my email address...even though I've seen it on other pages. I'll try again, it's ...nope, it won't let me. Bye for now!
