Leeanne's Story
Life
So here it is. My life biography. Rather intimidating. Well, it's hard to know where to start because I don't know when I knew you (the curious reader of my biography). Maybe I'll give the complete recap?
After kindergarten at Hesperian Elementary School (San Lorenzo, CA), I moved thousands of miles away and attended Rabbit Creek Elementary School (Anchorage, AK) for grades one through six. I was a competitive gymnast and a late 80s fashion disaster. I moved again and attended Pleasanton Middle School (Pleasanton, CA) for 7th and 8th grades where I battled the upper crust, joined the yearbook staff, and sung in the choir. Then Foothill High School (Pleasanton, CA) for 9th and 10th grades where I despised absolutely everything except my small group of amazing friends and the personal pan pizzas served at lunch. I left Foothill for Valley Christian High School (Dublin, CA) in 11th and 12th grades. There, I uncovered a surprisingly social "me" and became a varsity cheerleader, a class officer, the school newspaper editor, a y...Expand for more
earbook staff member, and an actor in the school plays. I then attended Azusa Pacific University where I spent virtually all of five years in the student publication office working for the student newspaper, yearbook, and literary magazine. I lived on campus and became involved in Lambda Pi Eta (Communication society) and the Orange and Black Club (to rebel the school's abrupt and unconstitutional color change to Brick and Black). I was cited for breaking on-campus pet codes multiple times with my snake, frog, and mouse. I received two bachelor's degrees: Communication Studies with an emphasis in Journalism and Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design.
I am currently a magazine editor and freelance writer/designer in the San Francisco bay area. I spend my free time mastering pilates, listening to music by angry female singer-songwriters, watching independent films, writing essays and short stories about random stuff, hanging out with my church friends, and continuing my life's quest for a Chinese restaurant with perfect kung pao chicken.
