Lenore's Story
Life after Edgebrook Elementary and North Park Academy:
I attended St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, from 1962 - 1965. I ultimately received my BA from National-Louis University, in 1987. I have been happily married to Ramsey Schaffnit since 1974.
We have two daughters, Anne (now married to Rob Freelove and living in MN) and Lisa (working on her Masters' at the University of Aberystwyth in Wales). We are blessed with two grandsons, born in 2003 and 2006, who live with Mommy Anne and Daddy Rob in MN. They are the joy of our lives.
We like to spend as much time as possible in Spicer, MN, where we have a lake home. (The lake home is also known as the "grandchild magnet".) The rest of the time, we are in Glen Ellyn, IL. My parents lived to be 95, but both are gone now. I think of them every day, and of the good family life they provided growing up in Edgebrook. I don't think I fully appreciated North Park Academy until I grew up a little. (I'm not sure I'm so grown up now, but I hope I have learned a little about the world and other people since then.)
I was pretty immature in college, and I loved working afterwards, in banks and insurance companies in IL and MN. It is at work where I finally matured (some) and learned what I was capable of. Since quitting the corporate world, I have used my skills starting and running my own business, and in leadership roles in several volunteer organizations. My life is good.
I am blessed with dear friends, family, and interesting activities such as music-making and travel.
