After graduating I stayed with radio till the fall of 75 when I thought I could move on to better things in the business and got a rude awakening about what it took even in small market radio. I had fallen in love with the Orlando area and marching at Disney World so I took a shot and moved to Orlando to work there. Was in operations at Twenty Thousand Leagues ride and worked in the park in Fantasy Land. I had a great time but thought about furthering my education and came back to Fort Walton doing another stint at WFSH in Niceville and going to OWJC transfered to Birmingham Southern in the fall of 77 on a full ride and threw that away by going to a Univ. of Alabama football game and the Frat parties after. Transfered to Bama and worked at two different radio stations there WNPT and WACT. I proceeded to party my way out of school and realized I didn't really want to be an engineer so I went back to Disney and worked in Entertainment as a Disney Character doing all the fun things they do. I went back and forth from radio in Tuscallosa and Disney in Orlando until BAMA told me to not come back so I went full time at Disney and stayed there doing characters and doing some Sound and Lighting grip work there till the summer of 80. Got mad at Disney when I got passed over for a Grip job and went to work for Sea World as a live announcer when the recession hit. You couldn't buy a job in the tourism industry so I headed back home to FWB and went to work doing nights at WNUE. I also tried to work on a theatre degree at OWJC. It was fun but I decided to pursue my radio career as it made a change and I moved to Lake Charles LA and worked evenings...Expand for more
