Leona Sameerah Henderson:  

five months have passed and I am happier than I have ever been and while I am not yet earning an income, financial success is around the corner! WRITING & DANCING: I'm the Seattle Arts & Entertainment Dance Examiner for the Examiner online. I was as surprised as anyone to discover that while I am still unable to find a job as an accountant, the universe has created the space and opportunities for me to dance (I have been performing in both troupe and solo performances)and work with the most AMAZING dancers in the world, and now I have the privilege and honor to write about dance in Seattle as well. I did numerous interviews, but have had to put this on the back burner in order to open MY STORE!!! I will get back into the writing groove once things settle down. DANCE Being the creative accountant I am and excellent negotiator, once I realized I was out of money (almost immediately) I had to come up with a plan to keep dancing! Because of my positive attitude and what I bring to the studios and workshops, all the teachers are working with me to keep me dancing until I have an income again (they do so miss their best customer!) So I am the assistant to one of my mentors, Helene Eriksen, a critically acclaimed dancer, choreographer, and dance ethnologist so I can continue to attend my dance, zil, and drum workshops. I also do alterations and anything else so I can to take private lessons from my instructor Mirabai Asal who most recently won 1st Runner Up in the 2009 Belly Dance U.S.A. Competition. In addition, I am doing things at my dance studio, Abyssinian Dance Center so I can continue my training there where I dance as often as my schedule allows. What they are finding out is the passion and love I bring to the dance studio I am bringing to their businesses and my business expertise has helped them while it has kept me dancing and feeling productive. We all win. VIDEO, OTHER BUSINESSES I filmed an exercise video in conjuction with Thumbpint Corporation (an Emmy winning corporation - check them out! based on my concept, set design, and me as the star...) PSYCHIC EPISODES Since I left Boeing the psychic episodes and manifestations happen daily so I am writing constantly. I can barely write backwards (about the past) and try to keep up with what is happening daily. The craziest thing of all is now I think of things I need and then my husband brings them home, as well as other people give me strange obscure things that I think of that I need. This "strange psychic manifestation" is so crazy that once I get my writing career firmly established and my video done I think shopping a publisher will be easy.
