Hey all ... I'm still kicking. Ended up in the high desert ... loving it. Quiet and shy in high school. 'Never moved on to a "real" college education but worked as an independent pool maintenance service person for most of my life. Ended up with a small pool ...Expand for more
maintenance company with three guys working under me and acquired a contractor's license in pool construction. I'm nowhere near retiring but I spend four to five days a week working in the Coachella Valley performing minor and major pool repairs. Life is good!

Some are green and some are brown.
I've had this curly willow about a year in large pot.
A friend just gave me this ficus (at right). I think the willow is a prettier plant.
This little praying mantis is barely an inch long. I'm certain he hatched in my garden. An ootheca was laid on one of my ocotillos since fall of last year this spring there are several baby mantids about.
And then there's this little guy. Micro system in a jar of water.
More fresh growth... when I cut this cutting it didn't really even have flowers!
Here's the thriving root system.. the water is clear and there's a slight bit of algae.
WTF? ... sometimes my cutting tolerate being in water only so long, and not really thrive ... but these cuttings are not only showing fresh growth but fruit as well!
