Leonard's Story
College
While in the Navy, I earned an AA from Florida Jr College. I also attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, Calif and studied French and Vietnamese language and culture.
After I left the Navy, I earned another AA from Penn State.
I then earned a BA from Western Maryland College.
Military
I spent a total of 23 years in the Navy as a Cryptologic Technician/Linguist (French and Vietnamese.) I served in Alaska, Hawaii, California, Maryland, Texas, Philippines, Vietnam, Spain, and Florida. I served aboard ships ranging from submarines to aircraft carriers and I flew with Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadrons in Asia and Europe/North Africa. I retired from active duty in Feb 1982. as a civilian in DC and Maryland for the same navy outfit for 13 more years. Did a lot of world-wide travel as Naval Security Group Command Deputy Inspector General.
My wife of 42 years Maryellen and I are currently living in The Villages in central Florida, which by the way is like Disneyland for seniors.
Maryellen and I have three sons, Tony, Dominic and Angelo.
Tony lives in Sugarland (Houston) Texas with his wife Ernell and children Brandon, Nick, and Kylie. will be a great grandfather in a few months.
Dominic lives in Lewisville (Dallas) Texas with his children Alexandra (Aly), and newest Emma. (What a doll)
Angelo lives in Vail, Colorado . No children yet. Since he's our youngest, he's still living the good life.
