Leslie's Story
After High School I worked at Liberty Mirror for a while and quickly realized "these were not my people", After that I ran a children's theater for a few years. I applied to the fine arts program at Carnegie Mellon and graduated in 1980. Later I went west to the University of New Mexico for my Masters Degree in painting and worked for the opera as a costume designer for several years. I met my husband, an air force guy,(much to my surprise) married in 1989 after dating for 3 years, We moved to southern Cali after marriage I continued costume design in the So cal Opera world and my son was born in 1991.(He is of course the coolest, funniest, most handsome, smartest, young man on the planet and is working as a Pharmacy tech at a hospital and is planning the long trek through Med School) We are approaching an amazing 28 years...Expand for more
of marriage and I still think Mr. Brown is hot.(Annoying sometimes but still Hot.)
Life in Socal is extremely hectic but never a dull moment. I am a college professor teaching, art. I am also Director of the gallery at the college . I have an art studio where I paint and make prints and also teach. I have four dogs and have the great good fortune to live in an amazing house on 5 acres in so cal. I show my works quite a bit and have gallery representation in LA. My life is about art and family. Not so bad for a New Ken girl I guess.
I still visit hometown but it is very different. I own a few properties in good ole New Ken and go back to visit my family that remain there.I have been very blessed and have worked very hard. There are a few of you out there I would love to know what happened to. Hope you're still out there!
