Leslie's Story
Life
Hi. After graduating from York U., I briefly managed a Toronto ad agency, then married and returned to Saskatchewan, living for a few years in Saskatoon and Regina. There I continued to work in advertising with small agencies and the provincial government.
My husband and I decided to relocate to Vancouver, where we've lived since 1984. I left the workforce to raise our 3 children (2 daughters and a son), and became a freelance copyeditor. Nine years ago, I became actively involved in animal rescue work. I'm a principal member of a non-profit organization that has built the largest cat sanctuary in North America, and also manages the municipal animal shelter. I do most of the writing for the organization, including our website (check out Richmond Animal Protection Society, rapsociety, on google), and am one of the individuals responsible for the health of more than 800 felines. My family has 4 pet cats and I'm an animal lover in general.

n-to-earth people. A core group of us manage to find time to "party" once in awhile.
I haven't had many opportunities to travel, but 15 members of my family have cruised together to both Alaska and the Mexican Riviera.
I occasionally manage to visit relatives in Toronto and Regina/Saskatoon.
A few years ago, I put "mommy vehicles" behind me and bought myself a "hot, little red sportscar"---a Mazda MX6. Zoom, zoom, zoom. Thank God I'm still flexible enough to get in and out of it. My husband happily continues to drive the van.
My eldest daughter attends UBC and has been the girl drummer in several otherwise male bands. Unfortunately, my dancing days are behind me and I won't risk getting laughed off the dance floor.
My younger daughter attends Kwantlen Polytechnic University and lives to shop. My auburn-haired, 13-year-old son is relieved to be almost as tall as me. None of my kids resemble each other or look like me. My husband doesn't look like me either.
I'd love to hear from you!
Leslie
